News: Aleksandra at the World Economic Forum, Davos
Magpie CEO Aleksandra was invited as a speaker at Caspian Week at the World Economic Forum. She joined global leaders and innovators to discuss women’s leadership in business as well as the geopolitics of new mobility and infrastructure initiatives.
Speaking on the importance of female role models, Aleksandra observed:
Often we see just the end result: the woman prime minister, the female CEO – and we don‘t know, or don’t see, the journey she took to get there. So women leaders need to take more time to tell their stories – the good, the bad, and the ugly. This may of course discourage some, but it will be much more impactful than simply seeing the finished product.
And on mobility:
Ultimately, all infrastructure is a political and economic project. It transforms not only space, but also decisions, cultures, philosophies. And the bigger the project the bigger the stakes and the bigger the transformations. So as we discuss the Belt and Road, new infrastructures, and hyper–connectivity we need to ask ourselves how we want the coming generations to live.
